- Feb. 20: FILM SCREENING + Q&A: "We Were Here - The Untold History of Black Africans in Renaissance Europe"
- A groundbreaking documentary by Italian Afro-descendant artist Fred Kudjo Kuwornu focuses on Black Africans’ long history of representation in, and contribution to, the development of visual culture in Europe.
- The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker Fred Kudjo Kuwornu. This event is co-sponsored by the Black Studies Project, Italian Studies, European Studies, and the Suraj Israni Center for Cinematic Arts as a part of the Black Europe Series and Black History Month 2025 at UC San Diego.

- A Haitian demolition worker is faced with the realities of redevelopment as he is tasked with dismantling his rapidly gentrifying Miami neighborhood.
- The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker Monica Sorelle, with guests Joy Brunson and Phanesia Pharel. This event is held in relation to Professor Mysia Anderson's class "Great Performances on Film: Picturing Paradise"

* This is a 5-part Spanish Film Series led by the Department of Literature's Associate Teaching Professor of Spanish, Ryan Bessett. The series seeks to raise the visibility of Spanish at UC San Diego, while creating community among Latinx folks and anyone interested in the Spanish language or the cultures of the people who speak it. Films will be in Spanish with English subtitles.

Enjoy a discussion with film expert and author Kartik Nair. His book “Seeing Things: The Archive of Bombay Horror," offers a fascinating look into the haunted houses, grotesque bodies, and graphic violence that left an indelible mark on the world's largest film culture.
