Q&A

Fellowship Cohort: Fall 2024

Why did you choose this project?
I have always been interested in good writing in narrative film/media. This is the backbone of any good project. I chose to focus most of my time on writing strong characters, relationships, themes, and story structure. The main character, Carmen (Ava D’Amore) is influenced by some of my favorite  detectives/investigators in media, and the way their characters are written to be dynamic and engaging. I am also interested in social/political themes in media. Most of the social commentary lies in the depiction of the billionaire character Dev Mahir (Advait Patodia).

How was this fellowship meaningful or impactful to you?
The fellowship allowed my production team and I to create a world that would not have been possible without it. The variety of locations, cast size, post production process, and overall speed of a production this large was directly propelled by the support the SICCA fellowship provided.

Have you showcased this work in any other ways or places? Do you have any future plans related to this work?
It was showcased at the 2025 Triton Television end of year Sanctioned Project Screening at Ultrastar Theaters and I will be submitting it to various festivals once the original score (made by composer Leo Seligo) is finished.

At the time of his fellowship, Lennon was a Visual Arts in Media and Design student and Project Manager at Triton Television. He is focused on narrative character-driven filmmaking with an emphasis on creating strong political messages in media.
